Our church planting roots

The purpose of GBCanada USA is to fulfill our vision by stimulating and supporting a movement of church planting across Canada. Our strategy is to recruit and raise up leaders who will organize and lead core church planting teams into targeted urban areas to establish Regional Mother Churches. These regional churches will then plant clusters of daughter churches in their surrounding areas. Our fundamental role in the church planting movement is to empower our local churches to multiply by aiding in the recruitment of new leaders and facilitating their development. Because we believe that a true movement can only happen through the churches themselves, we are committed to our churches and invested in their leaders.

GBCanada began by planting Grace Community Church in Mississauga, Ontario in 1998. Our mission is driven by the dedication of the leaders you see below. Click on their profiles to learn more about their individual efforts.

Nathan Bryant, MDiv (Capital Bible Seminary)

Nathan is one of GBCanada’s founders, serves on the Fellowship Council of the FGBC, and formerly a board member for the Grace Brethren Missionary Herald Company. Nathan is now serving as Executive Pastor at Grace Community Church developing a new vision for church planters.

Philip Bryant, MA (Capital Bible Seminary)

Philip and Beth Bryant have been instrumental in the launch of every one of our current churches. They pioneered the effort to lead our first team into Western Canada where Philip currently serves as lead pastor of Community of Hope Church. Philip also oversees our summer teams which serve the outreach efforts of our new and existing Canadian churches.

Ted Adomanis, CPA, MM (Grace Theological Seminary)

Ted has managed GBCanada’s financial, legal and fiduciary functions since 1998. He and Elise are actively involved in our churches having been part of Grace Community Church in Mississauga and the team that launched the Village Community Church. Ted currently serves the Grasslands Church while Elise administrates GBCanada USA. Ted also serves as board chair for GBIF.
